Volvo S40 Vehicles have gone through a strong increase in their selling price recently. There has been a considerable inflation in the selling prices for this model.
The retail prices for Volvo S40 cars have gone through a strong rise during the last 6 months. In October the price for a car is RM 13,586 increasing till RM 14,759 in November. During the following two months (December, January) the average selling price rose somewhat going from RM 14,172.5 to RM 15,375. The average price has risen 11 % during the last two months. This result was obtained based on the price for the first four months (PRECIO1!) and the price (RM 16,423.5) during February and March.
The average price for Volvo S40 has had a strong rise in recent years. Between 2001 and 2004, the average price is RM 15,836.5. There was a significant inflation of the average price in 2001 (RM 8,163) moving up till (RM 23,510)in 2004. During the following two years, cars belonging to the brand aforementioned had a strong deflation in their selling price of -28 % compared to the previous period. During the last two years, prices in the car industry have gone through a strong rise of 25 % compared to the average values for the previous 4 years. This was taken from studying the prices for the the preceding four years in previous sample (RM 15,159.5) and the the last two years that have been analyzed (2008, 2011) with a price of RM 18,919.
The graph that displays the price for Volvo S40 cars according to their mileage shows that those cars within a mileage range of "50,000 - 100,000" are the ones with the lowest price. They are 7 % more affordable than the average price (RM 14,642). Next with a price of RM 14,220 and a mileage range of "100,000 - 200,000" we would see the following vehicles. The mileage range for the most affordable cars is "100,000 - 200,000". It is 3% less expensive than the average market value followed by those cars with a mileage of "50,000 - 100,000" priced at RM 13,600.
